Zines and the Wisconsin Book Festival

Wednesday, 9 October 2013 | A Public Affair

What are zines? Short for magazine or fanzine, a zine is a self-published work, usually photocopied and often made by hand. On Wednesday, October 9th, our host Karma Chavez was joined by Dan Wang, Sarah Rodgers, and Liz Barr, Madison Print and Resist organizers, to talk about their upcoming event during the Wisconsin Book Festival.

On October 19th, Madison Print and Resist will be at College Library on the UW-Madison campus from 11am-5pm. Just Seeds and Xexoxial Editions will be there, along with more than 20 zine-makers from across the midwest. You can also check out UW Madison’s zine collection.
