The Environmental Issues of 2013

Friday, 10 January 2014 | A Public Affair

We have faced a lot of environmental conflicts in 2013. What do you think were some of the most important issues of 2013? Will any of those issues carry over into 2014? Check out this year end wrap up of environmental issues of 2013 to find out more!

On Friday January 10th, our host Esty Dinur was joined by one of the writers from Grist, Heather Smith and Mother of Jones food and agriculture reporter Tom Philpott to cover the most influential environmental concerns of 2013 and what we can expect to see in 2014.

Dinur and her guests discussed some of the biggest environmental issues of 2013 like the Keystone Pipeline and climate change. In addition, Dinur and her guests discussed the stories that they wish would have gotten more coverage in 2013. Some of those stories were how poultry slaughter houses function as well as how the USDA is deregulating corn production. Ultimately, there is still much to be done to begin solving our environmental issues in 2014.
