The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard

Monday, 7 October 2013 | A Public Affair

As we mark the 15th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s horrific murder this month, a new book questions whether his death was the result of a hate crime, or based in a history of drug abuse and a sexual relationship with one of his assailants. On Monday October 7th, our host John Quinlan discussed the book, “The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard” with author Stephen Jimenez.

The book, whose author Stephen Jimenez will be appearing at the Wisconsin Book Festival on October 19th, has been greeted with criticism and controversy, but also praise from some surprising places.
