Here’s the music I’ve selected for my November 1, 2012 show: 5:09: The Wisconsin Brass (celebrating their 40th season) perform four madrigals of Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643). Recorded in concert in Mills Hall March 3, 2012. 5:19: The Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Iván Fischer performs Dances of Galánta, composed by Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967) in 1933. I’ve selected this piece because the Madison Symphony Orchestra will be performing it at its next concert series on November 2, 3 & 4. 5:36: Violinist James Ehnes performs the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra Op. 14 of Samuel Barber with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bramwell Tovey.
