The out-of state license plates and exponential increase of old furniture on the curb can only mean one thing – it’s moving time in Madison! On the Wednesday August 14th on A Public Affair, Tenant Resource Center representatives Brenda Konkel, Anders Zanickicowsky, and Colin Gillis spoke with Karma Chavez about this chaotic time for renters.
The Tenant Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to encouraging positive relations between rental housing consumers and providers throughout Wisconsin. The TRC’s mission is to provide information and referrals to tenants, education about rental rights and responsibilities, as well as access to conflict resolution and mediation, they empower the community to obtain and maintain quality affordable housing. Chavez and her guests informed us about the do’s and don’ts of apartment hunting, how to apply for apartments, and tips for knowing the rights of a tenant.
The members from the TRC also informed us about new legislation, Assembly Bill 183, and the implications for both tenants and landlords as the result of this bill.
