Today in 1933: Nazis raid the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin, which doubles as headquarters of the Scientific Humanitarian Committee, a thirty six year-old gay-rights organization.
The Nazis destroy all archives, including priceless books, scientific data, photographs and manuscripts. The organization will cease to exist. Nazis intensify the persecution by interning gays in concentration camps and forcing them to wear a pink triangle as identification.
