Sunday, 16 December 2012 | Kiosk Collective
Today in 1855: African American teenager Ann Wood leads a group of slave children out of Virginia to the North. Armed and driving a wagon, the children are ready to fight and die for their freedom.

Slave-catchers stop them, but the fugitives point their guns and threaten to kill as many of the posse as they can before they themselves perish. The posse lets them pass, then isolates and kills two of the children. The rest find their way to Philadelphia and freedom.
