Lawsuit ushers in new notification system at Capitol

Wednesday, 9 October 2013 | ioby

Protesters will no longer have to apply for a permit to gather in the Capitol rotunda but they will have to notify the Wisconsin Department of Administration. The new system is the result of a settlement reached by Governor Scott Walker’s administration and the American Civil Liberties Union, who challenged the new permit system in federal court.

Michael Kissick, the plaintiff in the ACLU’s lawsuit, tells In Our Backyard about the new notification policy governing protests at the Capitol.
