The rich dance and sizzling musical heritage of the Emerald Isles come together with a bold new intensity with the world premier tour of Claddagh, An Explosion of Celtic Dance and Music, with special guest, the Prodigals.
Pronounced Cladda, meaning love, loyalty and friendship, this dynamic new production is staged as a modern day Irish fairy tale that quickly immerses the audience in an unbridled energetic fusion of music and dance—complete with a rich universe of love, life, tears and laughter. Claddagh is an artistic feast of talented musicians and dancers that will ignite the stage with the contemporary luster of shows like Barrage and Stomp while weaving in elements of the great Irish productions’ romantic finesse.
From the streets of Galway to the beaches of the emerald isle, the story introduces the viewer to a vibrant band of extraordinary musicians, portrayed by the highly acclaimed Prodigals. Featuring Irish favorites ranging from Rattlin’ Bog to Danny Boy.
The Prodigals are one of the most successful bands to emerge from the East-Coast Irish scene. The band members grew up largely in Ireland; their original songs blend a funky and anarchic energy that is pure New York with a passion for the traditional music of Ireland. The band has headlined major venues and festivals throughout the United States, Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Chicago, Boston and Maine, as well as abroad in Canada, Germany and Ireland. Headliners at Milwaukee Irish Fest and Dublin (Ohio) Irish Fest, among many others.

The public is invited to a very exciting free event focused on helping people of all ages live life to the fullest. This event is sponsored by:

Individuals with disabilities, healthcare workers, caregivers, and students will be especially interested in presentations, adaptive equipment and services that can make life easier despite health challenges.
Free presentations on Yoga, Therapeutic Gardening and Assistive Technology will encompass a holistic approach to wellness.
Come meet with vendors from various community agencies to discuss resources that can help to promote the highest quality of life
Free CarFit assessments are available from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. CarFit helps drivers and their vehicles work safely together. The 12 point assessment takes only 20 minutes and can improve the fit of the seat, seat belt, steering wheel and mirrors to maximize driver safety. Appointments for CarFit are appreciated. PurpleStride Madison is a family-friendly 5K run and 2-mile walk around the picturesque Warner Park. It is an event that unites the community by raising awareness and support for the fight against pancreatic cancer. The run/walk will take participants on a journey filled with hope and inspiration starting and ending at the Duck Pond. There will be children’s activities, entertainment, refreshments and more. DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services) will be hosting its seventh annual Celebrate Independence! Luncheon on June 24, 2014. This luncheon is an awareness event to benefit domestic violence survivors as well as the community. This year’s speaker is Dr. Jill Murray, the nation’s leading expert on the subject of teen dating violence. Abusive dating relationships are occurring at an epidemic rate with far-reaching implications for further violence both in personal relationships and in society at large. Dr. Murray has appeared on more than 350 television shows – including Oprah, 20/20, and Good Morning America. She has also authored the best-selling books: But I Love Him, Destructive Relationships, and But He Never Hit Me.

Wisconsin Aviation’s 13th Annual 1940s Style Hangar Dance: A Salute to the Troops – Past and Present!
Re-live the 1940s era by listening to big band music performed by Ladies Must Swing. Vintage wear is encouraged and there will be prizes for the best dressed couple and best dancers. The ladies will be performing 1940s tunes all night long: Harlem Nocturne, Seems Like Old Times, Leap Frog, Take the A Train, In the Mood, and much more!
Benefits to the Community
A portion of the door sales as well as the drink and snack sales will benefit The Badger Honor Flight (badgerhonorflight.org), a local nonprofit that ensures WWII and Korean War Veterans have the opportunity to see the memorials that have been erected in their honor.
*Doors open at 6:15p and Social Life Dance Center will be giving dance lessons at 6:30p!
