Don’t Buy It!

Tuesday, 15 October 2013 | A Public Affair

It’s our second day of our Fall Pledge Drive on WORT! The pledge drive will run from 10-14 to 10-26. We are listener-sponsored community radio and we depend on your donations for about 66% of our overall budget. Without you, WORT would not be able to run. NOW’S THE TIME TO PLEDGE! If you donate $50 or more during the A Public Affair hour (12pm-1pm) you can receive a free copy of the book discussed on air – and we have some great books coming up the next couple days. You can call us at (608) 256-2001 or toll free at (866) 899-WORT (9678), or pledge securely online here. Thank you so much for your support!

On Tuesday October 15th, our host Carousel Bayrd talked with Anat Shenker- Osorio about her latest book, “Don’t Buy It: The Trouble with Talking Nonsense about the Economy”.

With all of the buzz about the government shutdown this book is very timely. According to the publisher, PublicAffairs, “Don’t Buy It cuts through misinformation and skewers the economic nonsense we hear every day. In the end, it convincingly demonstrates that radically altering our politics and policies for the better is a matter of changing the conversation—literally.”
