WORT-FM Community Radio and the Center for Media and Democracy present a special benefit showing this coming Wednesday of SHADOWS OF LIBERTY: The Truth Behind the News Media’s Cover-ups and Control – a new film by Jean-Philippe Trembly. The film looks at the shortcomings of mainstream media, and showcases some of the leading voices of alternative media. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the filmmaker, and John Nichols of the Nation Magazine and Capitol Times, and Lisa Graves of the Center for Media and Democracy. WAIT! Don’t put away those Halloween Costumes yet!! The Sixth Annual WORT Blood Drive will take place on Friday, November 1st from 12:00noon-6:00pm at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa Street on Madison’s eastside.   The Badger Chapter of the American Red Cross will be on hand to collect blood donations throughout the afternoon, and WORT will be on hand to give out treats and play great radio.   How can you help?
