Cow-Power Biofuel

Monday, 22 April 2013 | buzz

Cow-power is the biofuel of the new millennium. So says UW’s Garret Suen who has all the udder details. Alright, sorry, that pun was my misteak. Well, clearly, I’m milking this.

All jokes aside, Suen’s research has the potential of impacting industrial ethanol production on a large scale. His research studies the way a cow’s stomach converts cellulose to ethanol. Ethanol is a biofuel produced from wood, grasses and parts of plants, considered to be a more efficient fuel than gasoline.
